 Today we are going to take a POP quiz on "The Split-Cherry Tree" and then review vocabulary words. You will have a vocabulary quiz tomorrow over lists 1 & 2.

Wednesday

 Today, we are going to finish "The Split-Cherry Tree". You will have time to fill out your short story outlines and work on your blog journals (I would copy and past yesterday's outline). The blog journals are due tomorrow. Remember - you have a vocabulary quiz on Friday.

Tuesday

 Today we are going to write words of the day with Inaugurate and Exhilarates  (remember vocabulary quiz on Friday). The Split-Cherry Tree

Today we are going to work on the questions below (I'll give you 15 minutes), then we are going to take notes on dialect and imagery and read "The Split-Cherry Tree". 1) Compare and contrast Montresor and General Zaroff: how they think, how they view the world, how they view others, how they view themselves, the places they live, how they act—in essence compare their emotional, mental, and physical existences. 2) Why does Montresor feel justified in carrying out his plan against Fortunato? 3) Which character traits make Fortunato such an easy prey for Montresor (needs to be more than just his “connoisseurship in wine”. 4) In what ways are Montresor and Fortunato alike?
